Spring Concert

The Michael Teolis Singers will close their enterprising fifth season with a concert called “Chicago Originals”. The totally original programming will include the music of Leo Sowerby, William Ferris, Dan Tucker, James Mack, William Russo, Vivian Fine, Lita Grier, Wayland Rogers, Thomas Dorsey, Peter C. Lutkin, William Dawson, Norman Luboff, and Steve Goodman. All of the composers were either born and raised or spent a significant part of each of their lives and careers in Chicago.

MTS is thrilled to have joining them for this concert tenor, Jerome Padorr. Mr. Padorr, who will be featured in the Sowerby "Olenu", has performed professionally in televised concerts and theaters around the world.

You won't want to miss hearing these unique, influential, and important musical voices.

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Wilmette, Illinois, Jerome Padorr has performed
professionally in televised concerts and theaters around the world. He was the leading
tenor at the Stadttheater in Bremerhaven, Germany and has performed in Seoul Korea;
Symphony Hall in Tokyo, Japan; with the St. Louis Symphony under the direction of
Leonard Slatkin; and with the Kiev Opera. His roles include Canio in "I Pagliacci",
Rodolfo in "La Boheme", and Lenski in "Eugene Onegin". As a student, he was the
first winner of the Bel Canto Foundation award for Italian opera, which afforded him
the opportunity to study with Carlo Bergonzi and Renata Tebaldi in Verdi's hometown
of Busseto, Italy. Currently, he is a member of The Chicago/Milwaukee Association of
Synagogue Musicians and The National Association of Teachers of Singing.
