Michael Teolis Singers
Scholarship Program

The Michael Teolis Singers (MTS) is pleased to announce, as part of its community outreach, the establishment of the Singer Scholarship program.

The mission is to create a program for high school and college-age individuals interested in singing with MTS, as a way to improve their choral skills.

The Goals:
  • To provide high school- and college-age students the opportunity to experience working with a professional-level musical organization.
  • To introduce those students to classic choral literature, as well as introduce them to contemporary composers and works.

Requirements/Eligibility:
Students must be attending a bona fide educational institution – either high school or college
Candidates will be chosen based on:
  • Vocal quality
  • Sight-reading skills
  • Overall musicianship
  • Openings within sections

Financial Reward:
Students will be compensated with funds toward a scholarship of $500 for half of a season and $1000 for a full season commitment.  Payment will be made upon completion of the final concert at the end of the half-season.

  • Up to 4 half-season or full-season scholarships will be offered
  • Every effort will be made by MTS to avoid conflicts with the school events of the student
  • Students must be punctual and attend all scheduled rehearsals, which take place weekly from September until early December, and January until early May. (Emergencies do occur and will be dealt with on an individual basis.)
  • Students must provide their own concert attire
