A MESSAGE FROM MICHAEL TEOLIS:
Wednesday, September 30, 2020
The Covid-19 epidemic has greatly affected the performing arts programs on all levels: from educational institutions to community organizations to professional organizations. Unfortunately, The Michael Teolis Singers has not been immune from the effects of the pandemic.
As much as it pains me to announce, this MTS will cancel its performances through the end of the current calendar year. This decision came after a great deal of reflection, deliberation, and input from the MTS Board. Although we definitely won’t be performing in December, I will not make an official determination regarding our May, 2021 concert until the end of this calendar year.
We are dedicated and determined to bring to our audience fun, exciting, unique, and enterprising programming. We truly appreciate your past and ongoing support, and we look forward to the day when we can be together in person.
So that we remain connected to our devoted friends and supporters, and to those of you who are new to MTS, I invite you to continue your visits to our website for updates and to experience recordings from our archives over the past 13 seasons.

MTS is alive and well and anxious to come out of hibernation to present our usual spirited and enterprising programming. Until then, we will reach into our archive to share on our website select live performances from past concerts. We begin by sharing some works that were featured at our “From the Screen and Beyond” concert presented May 4, 2019. The choral arrangements performed at that concert included the works of composers who wrote for the screen and composers who, in addition to their film work, also composed stand-alone choral works. Music from their films and independent works were represented.
Happy listening!

Mike's NotesWhere have we been?
June 15, 2020 Just wait’ll next year!
The all too familiar cry of sports teams in the Chicago area for many years, these days, could be applicable to many events, including Arts. May 8 was the 75th anniversary of V-E Day (Victory in Europe). Our spring concert commemorating the event was supposed to be Saturday, May 9. Sadly, along with all of the other public events scheduled around that time, our concert did not take place. Our Singers were extremely disappointed that we could not present the concert. It was really going to be a good show. |
